Composition Exercise

When composing our clip, we carefully thought about making sure we had enough head and lead room. This enabled the clip to flow and the characters to be able to move around freely. We also made sure that we kept to the rule of thirds and made sure all main objects were on an intersection of the grid. We did experience a few technical difficulties with the over the shoulder shots. We learnt that we had to speak more slowly, give gaps in between each persons speech and not to overlap peoples speech. Because we didn't there were a few background noises and  jumps with the speech overlapping. We also had a problem with lighting and the last shot is really bright whereas the others are quite dark.

Continuity Editing

I think that our video flowed well and achieved continuity editing. On some scenes it does skip but still flows. I think we have improved our skills on editing because it flows much better and we have come to grips with the format. I think we used a good range of shots and shot them according to the shot type. We included all the shots and more. The film has a steady pace throughout and has a hurried atmosphere that reflects in the actors performance. The film could be improved by making sure the camera was steady and make sure the shots we correctly done. There was also one shot where the 30 degree angle was broken.
